The Belu Administrator considered the 2023 Border Festival to Strengthen “Fraternity”

Maliana – (15th of November 2023), regarding the 2023 Border Festival organized by Centro Nacional Chega! I.P., the Secretariat of States for Arts and Culture, and the Ministry of Youth for Sports, Arts, and Culture for three days from the 15th – 18th of November 2023. It is a way of strengthening the fraternity of human beings.

The Belu administrator, Agustinus Taolin, thanked the Government of Timor-Leste for organizing the 2023 Border Festival, “Cultural Exchange to Strengthen Reconciliation,” as we invited them to participate.

He stated, “The 2023 Border Festival is important with the purpose of creating unity, strengthening the engagements of fraternity and friendship among the people and both countries, Timor-Leste and Indonesia and especially, Timor occidental, Malaka, North of Timor Central and Belu Communities.”

Timor-Leste and Timor occidental “Belu and Malaka” are Timorese, brothers and sisters, who came from one parent, tradition, culture, and descendant.

“We are Timorese, Belu, Malaka, NTT, and Timor-Leste created friendship as brothers and sisters as we are one descendant.” He explained.

He argued we are siblings. This fact is seen from the cultural dance performance together on the stage between both countries, Timor-Leste and Timor Occidental, Indonesia.

“We are pleased to thank the Timor-Leste government for being invited us. We expect that in the coming opportunities, we will conduct the same activities in the borderline, Belu, Malaka, and NTT with the community of Timor-Leste.” He expected.

Through this festival, the Belu Administrator expected our friendship to keep strengthening and become one community. We are the son of Timor, one descendant, come to give one another mind and heart.
